Some years later, in 1983 - when Cruise missiles had arrived on British soil - a number of anti-nuclear groups were formed among professional bodies such as teachers, artists, doctors, architects, actors, journalists and musicians.
The musicians in particular needed to have a forum from which they could contribute to the campaign for world peace and friendship through music.
MANA now has over four hundred members throughout the country - professional, semi-professional and amateur as well as non-performing music-lovers who wish to support our work.
